About Us
“The gift of the Dharma excels all gifts.”
— The Dhammapada
The Malta Buddhist Centre was founded in 2022 and is part of the Triratna Buddhist Community, a worldwide movement of women and men who seek to make the traditional teachings and practices of the Buddha available to the modern world. We explore the Buddha’s teaching and see how it relates in practical terms to our lives today.
The aim of our tradition is to support people to practice an authentic Buddhism, based in the tradition stretching all the way back to the Buddha, but in ways appropriate to our situation and times, living in industrialised, modern, urbanised conditions.

Aksobhin
Aksobhin is the founder and Chair of the Malta Buddhist Centre. He is a Member of the Triratna Buddhist Order, ordained in 2005. He taught Meditation and Buddhism at the Dublin Buddhist Centre for many years and has lived in Malta since 2017. As someone with a long personal encounter with serious illness, chronic pain and fatigue, and as a practising Buddhist, he brings a distinct set of qualities to his communication of the teachings of the Buddha. He has a background in social research and before that in engineering.
