Myth and Symbol: Exploring the role of image, sound and ritual in our search for truth and meaning.
For the most part we live a limited, constricted life, trying to make sense of our experience with our intellect alone. However, we can live a fuller more integrated life if we can learn how to engage the richer resources of our deeper consciousness.
We can train our mind to engage these deeper resources through exploring the imaginal, the mythic dimensions and resources of image, symbol and sound.
We will explore these dimensions by first exploring European mythology and archetype, then the mythology and archetype in imaginative fiction and then through exploring more specifically Buddhist imagery and archetypes.
The course is presented by Aksobhin, an ordained member of the Triratna Buddhist Order.
